My story
My name is Jo,
And this is my journey to losing 100 pounds – mind, body and soul.
For over 21 years, I was stuck in the exhausting cycle of yo-yo dieting. I was always chasing a “goal weight,” an “end game” or a “finish line.” Every diet felt like a temporary fix – something I had to suffer through, not something I could truly live with.
Then, at 35, something shifted. I found my way back to Weight Watchers – a program I had tried as a teenager when I lost 40 pounds. But like so many others, I hit my goal, thought I could do it on my own, and quickly fell back into old habits. I ended up gaining more weight than I had lost and found myself right back in that painful cycle.
But this time…this time was different.
Weight Watchers has evolved, and the changes made all the difference for me. The introduction of virtual workshops was a game changer. Thanks to Zoom, I found a community, connected with inspiring coaches, and met my accountability partner – who has since become a dear friend.
Today, I credit my progress to the four pillars of Weight Watchers: Food, Activity, Sleep and Mindset. These pillars are not just helpful – they have been transformational.
In just a few months, I’ve become a version of myself that I genuinely love and respect:
- I’ve created a solid sleep routine – 8 hours a night, every night.
- I track my food consistently and mindfully.
- I move my body daily, achieving 10,000 steps as a personal standard.
- And most importantly, my mindset is strong, focused, and full of growth.
But this journey goes beyond weight loss.
I live with a mental illness, and prioritizing my mental health is just as important – if not more so – than the number on the scale. Healing my mind while nurturing my body has become the foundation of everything I do.
That’s why this blog exists. This is not just a space for tracking weight loss or sharing recipes (though you’ll definitely find those here). This is a space dedicated to whole-person wellness – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual health.
My passion for cooking runs deep, and I love sharing meals that fuel the body and bring joy to the soul. But beyond that, I want this blog to be a place where people feel seen, supported, and inspired. A place where we celebrate wins that go far beyond the scale.
I am on a mission to lose 100 pounds – but more than that, I am building a life I love.
A life rooted in healthy habits, a strong community, and self respect.
Weight Watchers is a tool that works for me, but this journey is about so much more. Whether I hit that goal or keep growing indefinitely, I’m no longer looking for a finish line – because there isn’t one.
This is not a diet.
This is a lifestyle.
This is wellness.
This is healing.
This is me – becoming the healthiest, happiest version of myself.
And honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
