Micro habits for the win

42.4 pounds down

I had a gain this week. At first I looked at the scale and I was really discouraged and angry with myself. But then, soon after, I realized that it’s okay! It was John’s birthday week and there were a lot of things out of my control. For example, I had cake three times!! That’s not like me!

So we are starting fresh today! Lot’s of water, exercise and staying within my points. I am looking forward to seeing what the scale says tomorrow because I am so laser focused today. I know I got this!

Ever since I found joy in my journey I do not let setbacks bring me down. I know it’s normal to have gains on the scale, and it’s okay! There are so many things to be grateful for that it’s a waste of energy to think any sort of negative emotions about the number on the scale. It’s not worth it!

I absolutely love the topic of workshops this week in Weight Watchers. The development of micro habits is absolutely amazing. I even shared about one habit that I want to work on and I had one on one with a coach and she helped me develop a plan. I felt so supported!

I wanted to work on the habit of tracking at night. I’m such a good tracker during the day but I find once it gets to the night time I end up tracking in my head. I follow program, but I am out of the habit of physically putting the food in my tracker on the same day. I always go back the next morning and finish tracking so that it’s accurate but that’s not the best habit.

So my coach advised me to track in the morning! Track everything in the morning and I thought it’s so simple, it just might work! I used to pre-track my day in the morning but I wasn’t always sure what we were doing for dinner, so it was difficult to stay consistent. But now that I am so organized with meal planning, it would be easy to track my whole day in the morning!

So I set a cue on my phone at 9am everyday to “Track”. I am going to think about my day and track everything I plan on eating. I did it yesterday and it felt great to not have to think about keeping track in my head! It was almost relaxing knowing that I already did the work and knew I was on program (besides the two bites of cake I had and didn’t track oops).

Now let’s talk about this beautiful recipe I created this week. I don’t do original recipes for every video I post because I’m relatively new to cooking and do not have a massive arsenal of recipes just yet. I’m working on it! Plus there are so many recipes out there to explore!

But THIS recipe. This recipe turned out to be amazinggg. It makes the whole house smell incredible and is such a fun way to incorporate Brussel sprouts into your diet. I highly recommend not skipping the step of pan frying your chicken and onion because it just takes this dish to a whole new level!

Until next time.
